For those of you who don’t know me, your luck has just run out. My name is Joshua Parkes. I’ve worked my entire career as a theatre professional, including fifteen years spent as a working actor.
Last month, I closed a book deal with Koehler Books! My publisher advised me to start this blog. I don’t quite know what I’ll blog about but I have a few ideas. I hope you enjoy my random thoughts.
THE DUST BEHIND THE DOOR tells the story of Danny Maudlin, a new-kid freshman at Bayshore High School whose only friend is Lia, a dragon hiding from a war in her home world of Empaeria. As Danny rehearses the school production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” he discovers he can pass through the veil between worlds. Now, he has to help Lia rescue her brother and end the war that threatens to bring unspeakable evil to our own world!
THE DUST BEHIND THE DOOR will be available in Spring, 2027!
